The American Heart Association's CPR and AED learning programs help increase survival rates by training people just like you to respond quickly.  The sad truth is most people don't survive a cardiac arrest. Four to six minutes is the window of opportunity for someone to act before it's too late, but fewer than one-third of cardiac arrest victims get CPR from someone nearby.

Be The Beat  

Now teens have a fun way to learn the signs of cardiac arrest and the simple steps to save a life with the American Heart Association's Be The Beat website, which is loaded with interactive games, music, videos, and changes to win cool prizes.  

Hands-Only CPR  

Hands-Only CPR can by as effective as CPR with breaths.  This site includes a demo video and this technique - watch and learn how to save a life in 60 seconds.  

CPR In Schools  

Creating the next generation of lifesavers.  The easy-to-use CPR in Schools Training Kit is designed just for schools.  It contains everything needed to train 10 students at once in CPR.  Repeat the process to train a class, a grade - or even an entire school.  

Community Products  

If a family member, friend or infant in your care had a cardiac or first aid emergency in your presence, could you recognize the signs and respond quickly an appropriately?  The American Heart Association has developed a variety of training kits and courses to teach you lifesaving skills.

Less than one-third of sudden cardiac arrest victims are administered immediate CPR from bystanders.  Through a variety of programs, the American Heart Association is equipping people and communities to act in emergencies and ultimately save lives.
